Did you know that missing teeth in the mouth can cause many negative developments and damage in the mouth that are difficult to return?
Oral and dental health is an important criterion that also affects our general body health. Problems in the mouth can be a trigger or a harbinger of diseases in the body.
“Teeth that are lost from time to time due to various reasons are ignored, especially at the point where they are invisible when smiling. However, a missing tooth can cause many negative developments and damage in terms of oral health.
First of all, it is a more difficult process than expected for people who have been toothless for a long time to get used to using teeth later.
Tongue, cheeks and lips to the current state; that is, it adapts to edentulousness. In the edentulous part, the cheek collapses in, and the tongue spreads towards this space. The time it takes for the cheek and tongue to get used to the missing tooth is directly proportional to the time it takes to get used to the missing tooth. In other words, the earlier the tooth is made, the shorter the body gets used to the tooth.
The missing tooth side is not used or used less during chewing. This causes the related jaw muscles to weaken.
The jawbone shrinks on the toothless side. As a result of this;
– If a removable prosthesis, that is, a prosthesis with a palate, is to be used, the jaw prosthesis cannot hold and the prosthesis falls.
– If a fixed tooth such as an implant is considered, the bone structure with reduced width and height may complicate the situation.
In the non-tooth region, the teeth of the opposite jaw are elongated. They continue to erupt until the teeth come into contact with the opposite jaw, or they hang down with the jawbone and gingiva.
In case of missing teeth, the teeth in front of and behind the missing teeth fall into the gap. In order to make teeth here, it is necessary to straighten the overturned teeth with braces or to make other additional applications.
